On Sunday, October 22, 2017, the UMass Band Parents Association will sponsor the 10th annual MICCA Burger Burn for members of the Minuteman Marching Band and members of the UMass Lowell Marching Band. Parents and friends are asked for monetary and food donations and to volunteer in support of this endeavor. The Bandos regard this as one of their favorite events. It is amazing to see how many parents are engaged as volunteers and donors and to see the amount and variety of food the parents supply!! By hosting this event, we free up some of the Band’s budget to enable them to pursue other band activities. Traditionally, the UMass Band Parents Association is a fee and dues-free organization. Thus we have virtually no budget to fund this event! Its success is solely dependent on your generous participation and contributions! The purpose of our request for monetary donations is to cover the cost of the burgers, rental items, and things we buy in bulk for the event. Money in excess of our needs will be applied directly to the needs of the band. So, we ask you to please sign up for a monetary, food, or supply donation. We have 500+ Bandos to feed!! Monetary Donations: Please list your pledge under the Donations Category. Checks should be made out to: UMASS Band Parents Association and mailed in advance to: UMASS Band Parents Association RE: Burger Burn c/o Paul and Laurie Bissaillon 857 Oxford Street S Auburn, MA 01501 Food/Supply Donations: Simply click on any category's Sign Up button to add your item to that category. You don't need to bring it all - just some! Be sure to indicate how much you are bringing! Please keep perishables properly refrigerated, and use food handler's gloves while preparing food! Volunteers: We need assistance to set up the site, prepare and serve the food, and restore the site. Please list on the sign up form the number in your party if you wish to volunteer. Parking: To be determined. PLEASE NOTE: The Burger Burn is for the band members and the band staff ONLY. There will be a separate tailgate party set up adjacent to the Bando Burger Burn for volunteers, parents, and families to grab a bite to eat. This will ensure that we have plenty of food for our Bandos.
